A way to bleach teeth is called BriteSmile, a new laser system which dramatically lightens stained teeth in a single office visit. San Francisco Cosmetic Dental Specialists, Berkeley CA, is one of the elite dental offices in the United States certified to use the new system. The procedure lasts only about two hours and leaves teeth noticeably lighter.

The system begins with a bleaching gel solution applied to stained teeth. Then two different types of lasers, blue-light argon and heat-intensive CO2, activate the gel which lightens discolored tooth enamel.
